George Carrick raced Post Classics, 250 Production and 250GP machines. He competed in these classes at Club, State and National Level and was a very competent “A” grader as well as a top bloke. He was very popular with other competitors and had a very keen sense of what was right and wrong as well as fair play. Unfortunately, George was killed at Broadford in 1992, and as the GP class was his favourite it is a fitting tribute to a wonderful race that this class is named in his honour.
