President’s Report – 2024

AGM Presidents Report 2024 by Jayson Porter

Hello and welcome to the Hartwell MCC Annual General Meeting for 2024.

This year has again offered up a variety of challenges, with transitioning to Ridernet and the retirement of Karen Skate, we did manage to get four rounds and a Seniors meeting done and dusted, and championships won and lost. Well done to all those who competed and especially those who won bragging rights, races and championships. I hope to see you all racing again 2025.

To all our sponsors who have stuck with us over the last couple of years a massive thank you and I encourage members to use them when you can and let them know you appreciate their support. To those sponsors who can no longer support us we thank you for your contributions and wish you well for the future.

To our volunteers who helped out at rounds thank you without their help it would be difficult to put on events.

Race Marshall’s Victoria have again proven their worth, rain hail shine they are out there so we can do what we love doing. Without them it would be near impossible to run events.

To the 2024 committee thank you your hard work behind the scenes with all the planning and general running of the club. To the Sub – Committees who has organised different aspects of the club, from seniors to presentation night I thank you. It can be a thankless job sometimes but know it is appreciated.

Our membership has remained steady around the 600 members mark, made up of Life, Social, Complimentary, General, Junior and Family members. For those who do not know the club also runs a club permit registration scheme for vehicles (25 years or older).

As per MA’s direction all race entries have now been Via Ridernet, and your club membership can be paid there as well as at now.

Planning for the 2025 season is well underway, but we still a few unanswered questions that need to be worked out pending Phillip Island availability. Once again it will be 4 Round Championship raced at Broadford, Mac Park over the long weekend in march and P.I. The seniors meeting will again be held at Broadford in September and the possibility of the Col Sampson thanks to the Skate’s, for members to show some dirt biking skills. The Greg Bailey with be will return to one race on the Sunday after lunch Sunday, this is a direct result of member feedback.

The Club has also been appointed by MA to run the National Historic Motorcycle Racing Championship Event in November at Broadford Complex.

Finally I look forward to working with the committee and members of this great club for the year ahead.
