Volunteering

There are many ways in which you can volunteer.  You need have no experience as guidance is there in abundance. It is preferred that at some stage you obtain a level 1 Officials Licence which is a very easy online questionnaire available from the M.V. website and is a free service.

It is also recommended that you obtain a Working With Children Check.

Jobs include: administration, recovery,  scrutineering, odd jobs; for example helping with lunches at race meetings, flag marshalling, assisting before a meeting, helping with merchandise sales etc  to name a few.

RMV (Race Marshals Victoria) who we use at all of our meeting is an exemplary organisation who flag marshal and assist with many other tasks as needed to be carried out at a meeting.  We could not run or rather would not run without these amazing people.  They stand out in all weather conditions and are professional and love this sport.  You will often see them cheering the riders on the cool down lap.  RMV are always looking for new people to join.  Again no experience necessary, just a willingness to learn as they provide great training.  Remember that you do not have to be available at every meeting.  All we ask is that if you commit to being at a particular meeting that you actually turn up on time and ready to work.   Sadly in the past people have promised to turn up, we have a job assigned for them and they fail to turn up.  If we are unable to fill their job, racing may be delayed or come to a halt until the situation can be resolved.  So please bear this in mind when you put up your hand.
